December 8, 2024 Bulletin Announcement

Announcements

Elders and Deacons:  The new selected Elders are Mike Jouwstra, Bill Post, and Justin Ranek.  The new selected Deacons are Alex Pronk and Jesse Bleyenburg.   If there is any scriptural reason why these men should not be ordained and installed to their office, please see Jason Snyder or Pastor Mark.

Thank You:  I want to thank everyone for their participation in the Operation Christmas Child program this year.  Some contributed by filling a shoe box, some contributed by making special items to add to the boxes, and to the church for supporting this mission by picking up the cost of shipping and handling.  The numbers overall were about the same as last year.  We made a big difference in the lives of children around the world and their families.  Thanks for your generosity and caring attitude. Iris Talsma

Edgerton Food Shelf Angel Tree: We invite you to participate in our Third Annual Angel Tree/Gift Drive at First Reformed Church. The tree, located in the entryway, is decorated with ornaments, each representing a gift request or need. Simply take an ornament, purchase the item listed, and place the unwrapped gift in the tote beside the tree. We will be collecting items from Nov. 25 - Dec. 18. By doing so, you'll help us bring a little extra holiday cheer to local Food Shelf members in need. Let’s make this season brighter together!

Volunteer OpportunityWe are seeking a volunteer to lead a brief, 5-minute children's message during our service. It would be around 6 times a year. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your faith and inspire the youngest members of our congregation with a simple, heartfelt message. If you feel called to serve in this way, please reach out to Caitlin Arp.

Peter Fish:  There is still time to turn in your Peter Fish if you have not done so already.  You can place them on Caty’s desk.  Thanks!

Pigs-in-the-Blanket:  There are pigs-in-the-blanket available to purchase.  Contact Linda or Mary Ann Z.

Cookbook:  Some of our fondest memories are often made up of times spent in the kitchen or around the table with family.  This is why we are asking to collect some favorite recipes of past and present residents to put together an Edgebrook Family cookbook. If the recipe is handwritten by the resident, or if you have a fond memory that goes with the recipe, we would like to incorporate those as well.  Putting this together is going to take some time, so we ask that you get the recipes to us by January 15, 2025.  Things to include in your submission:  Recipe name, resident name of who the recipe is in honor of, and a memory of baking with them if you have one.  You can drop off your recipe in the business office or by mailing it to:
Edgebrook Care Center
Attn: Cookbook Committee
505 Trosky Rd W.
Edgerton, MN 56128

Edgebrook Care Center Angel Tree is up! If you are interested in giving to a resident at Edgebrook please take a tag! Please return your gift by 3pm on December 16 to the business office. Gifts will be passed out on December 19. The angel tree is located in the north hallway.
